“No two people are the same, and neither are two of the hairs that grow on your head. I wish our products were a bit more like this as well. The next step in mass production could be controlled imperfect production, for interesting, personal objects.”
An infection is the detrimental colonization of a host organism by a foreign species. In an infection, the infecting organism seeks to utilize the host’s resources to multiply (usually at the expense of the host). The infecting organism, or pathogen, interferes with the normal functioning of the host and can lead to chronic wounds, gangrene, loss of an infected limb, and even death. The host’s response to infection is inflammation. (from Wikipedia)
We use objects and they change our lifestyle, by using them we create the need of them.
We shape our lifes on them.
We feed them with resources, material and energy and we gave them the material and the tools to multiply.
We may feel good but the greed of possession grows in our guts.
As Gandhi said “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed”.
Are objects an infection? Is design a disease? or the cure?
